Know what the link is showing you

A brand page, a retailer’s category and an exact product listing serve different purposes. An editorial reference can help you explore a collection, but only the current product page can tell you which size, material and colour are being offered. Treat a photograph as a starting point, then read the listing. If a recommendation does not identify an exact item, do not assume that every product on the destination page matches it.

Check the complete cost

Compare currency, delivery charges and any duties or taxes disclosed at checkout. Prices can differ by destination, and a figure quoted in an older story may no longer apply. A low headline price does not tell you the cost of receiving an item or sending it back. Keep the order confirmation and the terms that applied when you purchased, especially for a cross-border transaction.

Read sizing as information

Look at the garment measurements, fit notes and material rather than relying only on the size you usually choose. Compare with a piece you already own. For bags, consider dimensions and empty weight; for shoes, the shape and intended use. When information is missing, asking the retailer a specific question is more useful than guessing from a campaign image.

Understand the return route

Check the deadline, exclusions, condition requirements and any return fees before paying. Sale, personalised and certain hygiene-related items may have different conditions, subject to your applicable consumer rights. Look at where a return must be sent, not simply whether the site says returns are available. A retailer’s support team is the right contact for an order made with that retailer.

Separate a recommendation from a relationship

An editorial link does not establish a commercial partnership or a member benefit. When a Privé story includes approved affiliate links, we label them and explain that a qualifying purchase may generate a commission at no additional cost to you. Ordinary editorial links earn no such commission. Neither kind of link turns a retailer purchase into a Le Privé booking, and no purchase is required to read this story.
