The Mediterranean weekend, edited down
A lighter case and a slower itinerary: what to consider before a few days by the sea.

Plan around one good base
The most useful luxury on a short trip is time. Choose a base that makes your main plans easy, whether that means walking to dinner or staying close to the sea. Read the location details rather than relying on a broad destination label: a property described as being near a city may still require a long transfer. Confirm arrival arrangements directly before building your first evening around them.

Pack for the in-between hours
A Mediterranean weekend is often less about a sequence of occasions than the hours between them. A breathable shirt, an easy trouser and a layer for the evening can cover more of the day than several narrowly defined outfits. Look at fibre composition and care instructions; linen can be appealing in warm weather, but how it feels and travels depends on the weave and garment. Bring footwear you already know you can walk in.
Read the practical details
Before ordering anything for a trip, compare the promised dispatch date with your departure. A delivery estimate is not a guarantee that a parcel will reach your room. If you want hotel delivery, ask the property about its policy, booking-name requirements and storage arrangements first. Keep enough time for sizing mistakes or a return rather than treating shopping as an urgent travel service.
Give the itinerary some air
Choose one reservation that matters and leave the rest flexible. Check opening days and transport options, particularly outside the main season. A beach, restaurant or spa seen in an editorial is not automatically a Le Privé partner, and an interesting address is not a confirmed booking. Use the property or venue’s own channel to check current availability and conditions.
Bring home fewer decisions
Make a short list of the pieces you actually used. It is a better starting point for the next trip than another aspirational packing list.
